Naim plastic plug box question
Posted by: Lightkeeper on 04 November 2002
Could anyone tell me for what use is something like two plastic pins on one and one platic pin on other side on Naim cable connector "box" ?
Those pins don't let the cable to stay close and easily fit to my Nait2. If I cut them of, it will passed and I should do that, but for what use that is except making of confusion?
Thanks
Ozren

Hi Ozren,
I assume you're talking about the tabs on Naim speaker wire connectors. I think they are to there to indicate ch. 1 and 2. They did not fit
my Nait I and so I snipped them off. I've heard others on the forum do the same.
cheers

ah! top secret but we use the single pin to show positive connection when wired it says "pos" on it!.

Thank you both !
Unfortunately, I would have to cut them of, because I want to replace some odd "gold plated" (yeah right, diamond plated... ha ha) bananas which I have with Naim weird connectors.

Yup, you can count me in too! I also had to cut off the little tabs, to make the plugs fit into my Nait-2.
Isn't it weird that Naim makes a dedicated ls-plug for their Naim amps,
....which doesn't fit ?!
o well, now that I cut off the tabs they fit like a glove.

Actually you can slide the plate off the pins, turn it round and slide it back on. It is wierd though that Naim Audio makes a dedicated plug which doesn't fit its older integrated amps. I wonder if the tab was something to do with CE compliance?
