Artists you are surprised not to see discussed on this forum.

I have been a member here for just over a year, and I am constantly surprised the width and depth of discussion of music here. Pretty much every artist who interests me has been discussed at some point over the last year.
Obviously when artists release new albums there is a lot discussion. In contrast there are artists who were very much part of their time, or passing hype, for example I would not expect to see discussions of, Five Star, A1 or Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
One artist I am surprised to not have seen discussed is Duran Duran, not a favourite of mine, but a huge selling band who reformed not long ago. I also don't think I have seen much mention of Depeche Mode (I might be wrong on that, Violator has probably been on the 'now playing' threads a few times).
I also do not seem to remember any Marilyn Manson (Brian Warner) discussions.
Are there any artists other people are surprised to not have seen discussed?
(Waits for numerous links to threads on Duran Duran and Depeche Mode I have missed).

Dear George
I'm glad I'm not alone for admiring a lady who sung about
the biggest aspidistra in the world - wonderful.
Sir Edward was pretty fine too IMHO.

Interesting, I thought Youtube had banned music videos from UK access?

Just to jump on the rap bandwagon....
Public Enemy I feel deserve far more recognition than they get from the anti-rap ists.. Maybe because of the almost zero airtime they get and as a result most people don't really get to hear them. I remember the first time I heard 'It Takes A Nation Of Millions' and I thought what utter c'rap'... just a mindless noise. But like a lot of great songs, they don't really start to unravel themselves until the sixth listen. There is (was) genius at work in the early Public Enemy creations.
And... The Aphex Twin?
And... The Happy Mondays?

Public Enemy were/are brilliant. Production by the Bomb Squad - it really does sound like a bomb going off! They then went on to produce Ice Cube's first album after leaving NWA (also not really mentioned), Amerikkka's Most Wanted - East Coast production on a West Coast emcee's album. Great.
PE and Tribe Called Quest are probably the two best rap groups ever (I prefer Tribe to De La).

Young black people making music?...heaven forbid! Totally agree Reubs...PE and Tribe the most consistent rap artists. Big fan of The Roots as well however.

Hardly see Ben Harper mentioned around here...his first two records are a couple of my all time favorite albums.

Great call...I've got the first LP, never heard much after that. More genius from Factory.
