Difference between XPS and XPS2

Here's todays brainteaser, what is the difference between an XPS and an XPS2 and how can you tell the two appart?

NB.

Note that the Burndy changed AFTER the XPS2 was launched, hence early XPS2's might not have the new burndy. The new Burndy can be identified with 'SXPS' on the collar.

My understanding is that the circuitry is basically the same.

What makes the '2' perform better, is the new casework, feet and a better power switch.

The re-designed Burndy is allegedly, significantly better.

Apparently the XPS2 has a newer x-former which after listening works better with CD players. In any event XPS1 to XPS2 is a very significant upgrade IMHO.
