Outlook 2003 help please
Posted by: Guy D on 19 November 2006
I use Outlook 2003. When it downloads an email I get the usual message about images being blocked and Right click etc. When I right click the layout of the email changes but I am left with a load of boxes with a red X in the corner. I can't view the pictures in the email.
A expect that a simple setting is wrong but I can't find it.
Please explain!
Thanks
Guy
p.s. Rest of info which may or may not be relevant: XP professional, IE7, Avast and ZoneAlarms.

Guy;
Has your problem arisen since installation of IE7?
I had a few 'IE7 conflict' issues, but good old Google (and a friend's help) came to the rescue, by typing in the relevant phrase.
A techie somewhere out there will have the answer. I couldn't get on with 'Outlook' and reverted back to OE6, which I find to be simpler and more logical.
Good luck.
John.

On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Security tab.
Under Download Pictures, click Change Automatic Download Settings.
Clear the Don't download pictures or other content automatically in HTML e-mail check box.

Thanks Beano that seems to have done the trick.
I assume that hasn't laid me open to any nasties?

Guy,
If you can bin the Microsoft apps and use Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird. Much better and faster.

Thanks again,
My security is fine, I often wonder about other browers but have never quite taken the plung!
