The whole album to listen to at very low quality. It sounds fantastic.

Sorry! When I lived near nottingham during my youth I was a regular in the nottingham selectadisc. It was opened before the london one also I think.

Are there still two next door to each other? -its been a while.

It has changed a bit recently as they have knocked the downstairs through even though there are still two entry doors! There is now also a 2nd hand CD place further down the same street. I think it is a fantastic record shop - the best I have visited. There is a Fopp in Nottingham now which is also pretty good, I never dare go in them both on the same day!

Sun shining. New one on the headphones. Nice. Very nice.

Well after half a dozen listens this album is growing and growing in a way all the great dan albums do. Lyrically it is funny, intelligent and cynical in equal measure. Musically it is sublime.

Much better sound than 2Vn also.

The dogs bollocks.

I'm loving it.

Go buy. Make them even richer.

Richer? Who? You're kidding right? Warner Brothers maybe.

I trust you're referring to the Seedy version BTW

P - still making a stance and waiting for the vinyl 'though I'm getting real itchy.

I pre-ordered my copy with amazon.co.uk and it's still not turned up yet. I'd have bought it from the local supermarket or something if I'd known they would be this late.

Hey sorry Ramon

I will get this sorted next week. I do need reminding about this sort of thing!

Capitulations R Us

Doing the shop for foodstuffs in the local Tescos yesterday and there it was in the top 60 section at Number 21 with a bullet! Could I ignore it? Could I 'eck.Course I had to buy it. The waiting was killing me.

First thoughts are that the title track is the best thing they've ever done. The drumming is knockout throughout and Walts basslines are just stupendously good. A couple of tracks are not instant - great - Never been a Dan album without at least one track that takes some getting into over time.

Much better than 2vN I reckon.

So I'll make 'em even richer by buying the vinyl as well - sonly money innit.

First listen I thought it was okay... but not much more. Then I listended to it again. And again, and again. Not only is it a grower, but it's quite easy to just push "play" again rather than pop something else in. Very much like 2AN in that regard.

Why oh Why can more albums not be produced to this standard. I do not want to quote hifi terms but... the dynamics are awesome, the bass is fab, it sounds natural, it just encourages me to turn the volume up more to be blown away, oh and i think the tunes are good too.

David

PS bought Chris Rea, Dancing Down Stoney Road, this is an example of how to do it soo wrong.

Because it costs a lot of time and money, and only when you have obsessive perfectionists like B&F is it likely to happen on a mainstream label Frown

David Patterson,
I agree with you 100% on both counts.
I think EMG is excellent musically and sonically.
I took the Chris Rea album back; I was so disappointed musically and sonically, despite being a Rea fan, and blues fan, for many years.

Steve,
Itook Stoney Road back aswell(at least my good lady did, my excuses for returning CDs is growing thin, think i will have to start using diguises!)

How the hell does someone not tell Chris that that effect on his voice is pure s**t*.
