Neil Young Decade

Anyone know if the version currently out is merely a cynical re-packaging of the version that has been available on CD for years or has the current release been re-mastered in some way? i.e. is the sound any better than the previous Decade CD?

I don't know. But it's curious, to say the least. Heavy duty TV promotion of a collection released 20-odd years ago (even though it it excellent)?

Perhaps they've given up on Young delivering the much-touted follow-up collection....

Nothing on the case to suggest its been digitally fucked with but it sounds great and the songs are stupendous.

It also, in my opinion has the best version of Like A Hurricane...

As far as I can tell the 'new' CD is identical to the one I bought nearly 10 years ago apart from a fancy new slipcase. Think I'll stick with the old one. Remastering, whilst annoying is sometimes acceptable but repackaging is just a rip off.I've been listening to this album for two and a half decades having bought the original triple lp - it still sounds great.
