Ian O'Brian

I bought 'A History of Things to Come' some time ago and have to say that his music is a bit of an aqcuired taste. It's not a bad album (actually pretty good in places) but his style does not really hit the spot (for me anyway).
Hope this helps

They all make music which is classed as NuJazz. Ian is slightly electonic/leftfield, Jamie is more ambient and Kirk probably closer to Jazz. I think I have just about every album they have done and enjoy most of the stuff. Ian is harder to get into.
Out of interest what artist is it that led you to Ian?
After the purchase of a bunch of Fila Brazillia, Boards Of Canada and Baby Mammoth, so I assumed it was a bit like this. Is it kinda heavy or just weird, bearing in mind I have nearly every Yes album done!
(Shut up Nick before you even start!)
In that case get them. It is very much the same kind of wierd sh#t. Jazz here, dance there, trip hop sometimes, wierdness for the hell of it with the odd filler and duff track.
Enjoy
