Can someone suggest a good album by these guys. I have a videotape of Glastonbury 99 which they feature on. Only one track but Lordy it rocks!

My favourite is "In Sides", which features the hit single "The Box". Very good, very consistent.

P.S. Please do not pollute what has been to date a Stallion-free zone!

I have the yellow one (fairly basic, but good), Snivilisation, quite a bit better, then In Sides (as mentioned), The Middle Of Nowhere (which left me rather uninvolved) and The Altogether (which was much better, getting back to the In Sides form for my money. It also includes the Dr Who track).

But not the brown one.

And I'm firm believer in non-violence.

nick I am trying to trace and album with a chinese kind of influence to it, I am sure it was orbital, am I mad?

Chinese? Doesn't ring any bells with Orbital. The only foreigny-sounding bit that comes to mind is The Box, which has a sound rather like those Hungarian instruments that are on the Harry Janos Suite (Herm, are you reading this? Help! Memory overload!).

Garyi, you're gonna have to get the old descriptive hat on for a bit more of a clue!

The best by a very long way! Classic tracks such as Impact, lush and Walkabout (great didg sound). If you saw the Glastonbury track it was probably Impact from the brown album (which is what i saw on TV).

The first album is also worth a listen which has the classics 'Belfast' and 'Chime'

Have any of you guys heard the orbital cover of Dr. Who, -it's an absolute classic. I heard it recently for the first time at a friend's, it really kicks but as to weather it is better than the original bbc radiophonic workshop version, i don't know!

You can get the original Dr Who theme and loads of other classic electronic sounds on Rough Trade - Electronic 01 double CD.

A good Orbital CD is the US import "Diversions", including Halcyon (&on &on)

Halcyon and on and on is my favourite.

I have heard people describe "The Box" on In Sides as chineese-like before.

Diversions is another good start - most people start with In Sides, and that seems like a pretty good idea to me as well.

Middle of Nowhere is a bit ropey - but the Newsround sample and the Rolf Harris thing are enough to get me to play it sometimes.

And the version of Dr Who is pretty good as well!
