What is your favourite Bolero ( Ravel ) ?

I just had iTunes on random and found myself suddenly hypnotized for about 14 minutes listening to Ravel's Bolero performed by Ernest Ansermet and L'orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

I remember years ago hearing a Karajan version and not liking it although I cannot recall exactly why, and I used to have, when I was much younger, an RCA Living Stereo version with Charles Munch and the Boston Symphony which I remember really liking but sadly misplaced somehow. ( it had a nice pic of a really hot Andalusian girl on it which may have influenced how much I liked it ! )

just wondering what other members faves of this piece are and why because I would like to try out some others

thanx

Ravel: Boléro / Ma Mère L'Oye (complete ballet) / Rapsodie espagnole / Une Barque sur l'océan / Alborada del Gracioso - Berliner Philharmoniker / Pierre Boulez

if you've got to have a bolero, i think this is the one to have. ravishing sound!

I read up on it and it looks like your not the only one who thinks this is the one , no beautiful Andalusian lady on the cover but oh well ... Smile
