New 55x remote has arrived (along with 552)

Posted by: Graham Russell on 31 August 2007

I've just received a new 55x remote. I opened the box of my new 552 and there it was just lying there Big Grin

New amp and new remote are warming up very nicely.

I'm also due another 55x remote to go with the 555 I received a couple of months ago.

I'm very much looking forward to the 552 running in over the next few weeks.

Happy days...

Graham.

From what I can see, Adam, 'evolution' is ahead of handset production.

My guess is that the first run was quite small & the IOU list quite large. Still, It's a fair point.

I'm lucky I got a new remote with the 552 and I'm still owed one for the 555.

If it helps I'm not using the new remote much and preferring the plastic Narcom remote. It's lighter, more child friendly and to be honest works just as well. OK, it doesn't glow in the dark, but I don't listed to music with the lights off.

Does it work with the new Superline?

Nope, just two weeks. Evidently things are catching up well now. Cool

Very nicely engineered indeed. Here's a view of the battery compartment I took while checking one of them out earlier. Someone was interested in seeing it a while ago!

Kind regards,

As you say Peter, a very nice piece of engineering. Thank you for posting the pic.

I received mine yesterday (for 555).
I'm a little disappointed because it can't control the dvd5.
I just needed a remote to use in the dark.
Apart from this it's a fine thing built to last.

I picked up mine this week. As I only have pre, cd and tuner it is perfect. A really solid piece of engineering. The black and white plastic jobbie is confined to a drawer, batteries removed. Not sure how long the 4 AAAs will last though, given that the buttons light up every time the device is moved.
