Yeah, bring back the Pig - It's great to see some quaint old fashioned Mana evangelism, there are only about three of 'em left now…

Tony.

He's probably busy loosening his spikes so as to avoid any scrutiny.

I hear that the discrediting of such turncoats extends to stating that they never knew how to set the Mana up up in the first place...

Just to put Vuk right on the "liar" bit (his repertoir for personal attacks being somewhat limited.) I have known about TC's plans to defect for about a month now, as has another key defector. (I'm not a defector, BTW, I just changed my mind! big grin )

Hey, the guy has trouble getting his DNM preamp to work on the Mana - it sounds better off it.

Next he investigates taking the rest of the system off Mana and putting it on the floor (just like Tony Lonorgan did.)...

It sounds less dynamic and detailed, but you can hear a bloody tune or three.

So then it is a case of trying to bring back the detail/dynamics without wrecking the tune.

Poor old TC knew he was going to get a kicking from the Mana bully-boys frown when they got wind of this, so he kept quiet - apart from letting one or two chosen members here know about his non-ferrous investigations...

We agreed to keep our traps shut, but TC is very busy dropping very broad hints all over the place...
I don't blame him for this, but the inevitable happened, and the character assassination was launched from Tora Mana hideout (a refuge for a number of undesirables exiled from here wink )

TC is then forced to confess his "crimes," and Vuk presses his well-worn "liar" button.

I mean, how could anyone possibly prefer anything to Mana having heard it/owned it? roll eyes

They must be lying!

Precisely what TC has purchased/ordered to replace his Mana, I shall leave it to him to explain.

The saddest thing of all about this tale is that he and I could see this Mana Flack coming, and he planned to dip out of the forums before it all started.

Now that really is a great shame. frown

What a guy chooses to park his hi-fi equipment on is after all his own bloody business! They slag him off as a person for that! roll eyes

Alternatively we could just have a sensible discussion on the relative merits of....

Naaah! The Mana bully-boys just don't "do" sensible discussions - and their thug-like behaviour starts from the very top! eek

As I have already said, the Mana people I have actually met, are a great bunch o guys.

He was never a Mana bully-boy.

I actually like the guy, but I can see how he pissed Naim off...

I hope he gets around to apologising to Paul Stephenson in order to facilitate his return here.

LOL,

I read this thread, I hadn't been to Choice in over a year. The funny thing about the thread is that it starts with 'AR legend on Mana beats LP12' or something like that. The second poster asks, yeah but... have you heard SACD, it's bloody marvellous.

well the rest you can imagine, it's histerical!

Oh, I just saw on a french site (Sony XB940S) the Sony 940 SACD player at € 380. That's 50% less than the original price, I expect Richers might have a similiar price.

Oh, and I saw for the first time at the FNAC in Paris SACDs for about € 25.

The main problem is that Mr Pig originally confuses HDCD (which he had heard) with SACD (which he hadn't). Under the circumstances I think he got off quite lightly really.

Steve G.

Even funnier, that SACD, HDCD or AC/DC it was all the same to him. What cracked me up in the beginning was the segué from AR legend to SACD, that's almost like talking about Céline Dion and singing in the same sentence. big grin big grin

Twenty-two replies on this thread to redeye's opener, and Steven Toy has posted thirteen of them. This has to be a record ...

Amazing Steven, where do you get the strength?

Posted on: 13 December 2001 by Steve Toy
Vuk deleted all of his postings therein, (he just left one personal jibe...) which kind of leaves only my side of the dialogue. roll eyes

One of Vuk's postings actually included a threat, but I'm neither bothered nor scared. razz

Well, I've got a slightly scabby bit on one of my toes, and I'm a bit fat, but other than that I'm ok.

PS Deleting the last message you have written and changing the context completely is really good fun.

In this instance I agree that it is unsporting to criticise Pig.

He is history, he will never return, so just forget that he ever existed.

Mr PD

You are an unsporting cad.

You keep implying that I am writing into the Mana forum under an assumed name.

You know I do not behave like that, my signature is always at the bottom of anything I write and yet you make this allegation in a forum from which I think I am banned (JW is changable) and hence cannot reply.

Now that is unsporting.

Please practice what you preach.

Mick

PS...I am not deaf and Miss Brightman is nicer looking and better sounding than you.

Good lord, in the year or so of my absence it seems its not only just Vuk who got banned !

So who is Mr Pig and why was HE banned?

Intrigued...

Damian

Mr PD

Actually I was joking....I really must stop doing that. I knew you were joking.

BTW I like being banned from the other place and have no intention of ever going back, one does not frequent a Salvation Army Hostel when one can frequent a decent hotel.

Vuk

I had to leave home this morning at 6 am...drive for 4 hours "oop bloody north" to spend the entire day arguing with some bloody lawyer over the terms of a contract.

He gave me a bloody awful lunch and I did not get home until 7.00pm after another 4 hour drive back.

Reading your post has just confirmed my view that all lawyers are bloody useless.

Whats even sadder is that I was at my club last
night and heard a rather good joke

Question...name the odd one out...a rich lawyer, a poor Lawyer or Father Christmas.

The answer of course is the rich Lawyer, the other two are figments of the imagination.

Regards

Mick...still suffering indegestion from that bloody awful lunch.

Well, I thought it was funny. Certainly made me look twice.

P.S. casting no aspersions on Mr Pig, just a straight spelling error.

Ahhh, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Only, more so. Salutes to Mr Lonorgan, and Mr Parry.
