Speaker Recommendations for Uniti

Posted by: Binkey M. on 29 April 2010

Hi again,
Just wondering if anyone owns or has heard the Uniti paired with the N-Sats and N-Sub? What are your opinions regarding sound quality and ability of the built-in amp to handle (drive) the N-Sats or other demanding loads. I know the Qute is not available yet...so will have to wait on that. Are there other speakers that you would recommend for the Uniti over the N-Sats? Lastly, on another part of this forum (I don't know if this was meant to be a joke or not) it was mentioned that Naim is no longer producing speakers!? Perhaps they mean "outsourced" to some other company???? They are still manufactured in the U.K., correct? If not, it would be like purchasing a Swiss watch only to find out it is made ...well ....in China!

Oh, forgot (the questions keep flowing) sorry! And everyone has been so helpful on this site. I really appreciate everyone's time. The N-sat has been around awhile. Do you know when or if the N-sat will be refreshed or replaced with an updated model? I also see Naim has dropped their mid-range offerings...so just wondering if they are getting ready for a bunch of new speakers. Would realy like some upgraded cosmetics on the N-sat like magnetic grills (no ugly pin -holes when the grills are removed).

I only have the nsats with my uniti so cant comment on what else would sound better, and I believe its the speaker stands which were phased out, not the actual speakers (managed to snag a pair).

For what its worth I've had it nearly a year, and still absolutely love it - as its a bedroom system the lack of an nsub isnt an issue, but its a matter of taste.

I suspect Naim design the speaker to perform optimally with the grille in place. It is true of some of their other designs.

Yes, been using n-sats & n-sub with my Uniti for 10 months now... time fly's when you enjoy something, and would recommend them totally. The Uniti drives them with ease. Sounds pretty good when connecting a bluray player and using as a 2.1 home theatre system.

Add an LP12 + stageline, sit back, forget upgrading and enjoy.
