I've downloaded a few songs in the last few weeks, and these are what I'll be listening to next week. Some are unique examples of pieces by people whose music I otherwise dislike or don't find particularly interesting:
The Stranglers: Golden Brown, No More Heroes
Dolly Parton: Jolene
Belinda Carlisle: Circle in the Sand
Sweet: Blockbuster (childhood memories of daringly watching this on Crackerjack)
Kelis: Milkshake
Seal: Crazy
...And others which I simply never got around to getting on vinyl or CD:
The Beach Boys: I Get Around, California Dreamin
Goldfrapp: Strict Machine
Blondie: Heart of Glass
Sonique: It Feels So Good
B-52a: Love Shack
Spiller: Groovejet (5 versions - bought accidentally, somehow)
Most were from 7digital but I made the mistake of getting the ones that weren't available at 7digital from Wanadoo [i.e. ODN2 or whatever it's called, which is also used by Tiscali and others]. These were 69p each instead of £1 but were of disgracefully poor quality [unless my PC speakers are deceiving me], copy restricted and dependent on a plugin for replay
.
[Edited to correct spelling mistakes].

Jim Bryson - The North Side Benches
The John Butler Trio - Sunrise Over Sea
The Wire Daisies - Just Another Day
CC Adcock - Lafayette Marquis
Rod Picott - Tiger Tom Dixon's Blues
The Wailin' Jennys - 40 Days
Kenny White - Symphony In 16 Bars
Retro stuff is a 'Dan' revival with Countdown To Ecstasy, Aja and Gaucho.
And yes Mick; I'm looking forward to receiving my copy of 'Nashville' en-route from the USA. Bob Harris has played a couple of excellent tracks from what sounds like a great album.
John.

First, I will be listening to my wife, as I do every week. Second, I am having a new sound system installed in my car this Thursday (Alpine receiver, Boston Acoustics speakers & new wiring) and I am going to listen to high quality and musically demanding recordings that will help me equalize and time correct the system.
I am definitely going to listen to:
The Piano Music of Alberto Ginastera
Songs From Within - Sheila Jordan & Harvie Swartz (voice & bass)
Midnight Sugar - Yamamoto, Tsuyoshi Trio
Haim
