Good PC DVD Reader, Please?

Dear Friends,

Before the Autumn, I want to fit a DVD reader in my little PC.

I am not a Home Theatre enthusiast, and most of my DVDs are classics like Kind Hearts And Coronets, though there are some with reasonable quality as well.

I don't need to be able to burn, so are there any thoughts on what would be a reliable and not too expensive read only model, in the experience of members here. Otherwise it looks like a complete lottery to me!

Thanks from Fredrik

Hi Fredrik

This is what I've been using for a few months.

Pioneer DVR-111D 16X DVD black +/-R/RW 8x +/- DL IDE oem

It's a DVD writer. I'm not sure you can buy just readers anymore. It comes in other colour too, just do a search on the Microdrirect site to find.

Pioneer is surely a good make and the price is less than I thought, so perhaps it will not wait till the Autumn!

Thanks again from Fredrik
