I just discovered this site in japan that has some really high quality pressings, I just bought 'The amazing Bud Powell' Vol 1 & 2 for € 60 with shipping.

Dave,

Thanks for bringing the thread back to life, and for reminding me of that source for Jazz LPs.

Dave, interesting choices. I like one final note a lot, though they can be a tad serious and lacking in humour at times. Shepp and Parlan are a very good match I think. What would you suggest as a good place to start with Walt Dickerson, and what do you think of him?

www.onefinalnote.com for those interested a cyber jazz/avant/improv mag of great quality.

Thanks to Peter S.for the original post and Dave for rejuvenating the thread so it came to my attention.

I've only had a quick look, and the stuff is obviously not exactly cheap, but it's definitely drooling material. I gazed at the in-shop photo for ages.... And all those CBS-Sony Miles Davis items Wwwwoooooooowwwwww!!!!! Japanese vinyl is the MOTHERLODE.

Nice to see David Murray getting talked up guys - I'm a complete Murray addict.

I'll post again if I purchase, promise - but I'm gonna take my time with this one.

Thanks again
Jim
