Bizarre forum clock syndrome - or back to the future?

Posted by: P on 23 July 2001

Ok I give in...

I'm dazed and confused

Is my ancient machine finally giving up the ghost here or is there a bug in the forums clock or something?

All the posts I am currently seeing are related to Tuesday - past midnight and some folks new topics haven't been viewed - never mind replied to - even though they've been there for hours?.

Is it just my machine?

Anybody else seen this?

For the record I am typing this at 20 minutes past eight on a Monday night - the 23rd July 2001

It depends which server you are using. The new MSN Explorer was playing up a few days ago. I tried to reply to a message - and was offered a download (?)
Then I went back to the Hi-fi Corner listings and ended up with the state-of-play from four days earlier!
I revisited the Forum under AOL, and everything was present and correct - and I was able to post my reply.
I then got a message from MSN to say that the system would shut down for a while for maintenance.
Everything was sorted when I logged back in a few hours later with MSN!

It's always a nice day for it, have a good one wink

Seems Freeserve went into meltdown last night and most of today.

They're apparently having a bit of a do with their new Anytime switchover

Nothing to do with Naim or Infopop at all
