Yes, it's all very convincing: neither the mono nor the stereo gets the bragging rights.
End result is that muggins here has pre-ordered both sets!
What is that saying about a fool and his money.....?

Great review, just a few more days to go.

Yeah, I bought em both as well. Our lucky man Bob, got his from Capitol/EMI. Nice perk of the job!!
We'll have some added coverage in the upcoming issue, as I'm the one on the staff with the 555, so I compared them to the old CD's as well as some rare, first pressing UK LP's, etc. They still stand up very well.

From the article - "Such discrepancies are why owning both the mono and stereo mixes of Revolver, Pepper’s, Magical Mystery Tour, and The Beatles borders on mandatory"
Oh dear. Does that mean I should get the mono as well. I think that is what I am being told! Cannot make up my mind on this one. I have got the stereos at a good price but 200 for mono is a lot. Hmmn.
I think this Tonepub article is the best review of the releases I have seen to date. Uncut was quite good as well.

Seems you should make up your mind quite quickly if you want mono. Mono box now sold out at Amazon US and Amazon Canada. Amazon UK still has them but for how long?

Lontano, life is long (we hope), so you NEED these discs to console you as you descend into senility. That was my thinking (aged 53)!
But I'm in Brighton, if you miss out on life's riches!

Thanks Graham. I have now ordered them again - having previously cancelled orders - twice! I will always be able to sell them on if I don't think much of them.
Cheers

Should any of you be unhappy with the mono box, they are pretty much sold out in the US. I'm guessing you could probably double your investment!!
Or you could probably trade ten mono box sets for a sizeable chunk of California...

... but only after they paid off their debt.

Good one!

£200 for the mono set is expensive - I think I'll opt for the stereo, I can always press the mono button on my 52
