Uniti streaming advice

Posted by: Amer on 25 October 2009

Hi, I have got my Uniti streaming radio from my BT home hub, no problem. But what I would like to do is also listen to Whirl-y Wave 'radio'. Right now I can listen to it via my iMac, but I had to down load something on itunes which connects it.

Is there anyway of setting up the Uniti to stream this directly, or can this sort of streamed music only be heard via a computer?

If that is the case does it make any difference to the sound quality if I just use the USB socket on the front or the digital in sockets on the back?

Thanks
Regards Amer

You cannot use the USB inputs on the back in the way you propose, however your mic does have digital audio out which could go into the back.

Some UPNP servers do provide radio streams as well, I am not sure if it provides the radio you are on about.

Not totally sure if this will help but Malcolm Steward's website includes a way of adding new streams to the Uniti. It's the thread under the stuff on the Naim DAC.
