I've been offered a second hand CD2 at what I think is a fair price (around 700 GBP). Another option is to buy a CD3 at 400 GBP.
The CD-player is going to be used with a nait3 and KanII's.
I havn't heard the CD2, but I've heard a CDI and that was alot better than the CD3. Even if the CD2 isn't better than the CDI, I guess it's a significant upgrade over the CD3. But then, there is the money issue. Which player will give me most VFM.
The CD2 is about 4 years old (serial number 135XXX). Is this the latest version of CD2?
Please advise

When I sold my CD2 to a friend who was using a CD3 the difference was blindingly obvious within the first seconds of the dem. A big improvement.
On the basis of this I'd have to recommend the CD2.
Btw, according to Naim CD player Product History:-
- CD2 & CD3 were both introduced in 1995.
- CD3 was replaced by CD3.5 in 1997.
- CD2 was replaced by CDX in 1998.
cheers, Martin
P.S. It's worth me mentioning that she uses a CableTalk Studio 2 cable, which seems to suit her system better than the pukka Naim jobby. This with both players. She uses Monitor Audio speakers.

Per,
I saw a CD3 on the web-page of Hifi Forum in Copenhagen, but the list doesn't seem to have been updated for a long time. I think the asking price was 5500 DKK. I'm going to Copenhagen but I won't have time to go there this time.
Where in Denmark do you live?
Rgds,
Lars

Per,
For now I'll be using a nait 3. But in the longrun, maybe I'll go for a 72 ==> Hi ==> and then have my 110 140'd. I think source first is the way to go. I hope that this upgrade will provide me with a decent digital source and just hope that I'm not struck by Upgraditis! You can never be sure, can you?
