Faulty CD's

Hi

I have just purchased a CD that jumps in quite a few places. On closer inspection under a bright light I can see lots of very tiny speckles. These are on the surface of the CD and cannot be cleaned off. The CD was by the Stereophonics "Performance and Cocktails". I asked for a replacement and it turned up today. The surface is the same and the CD jumps, I also got today from the same source Stereophones "Just Enough Education to Perform", this CD is the same as well! I have checked a lot of my other CD's and all have a perfectly blemish free surface.

Has anybody else experienced this with the Stereophonics CD's or any other CD's. I presume I't a fault in the manuafacturing process, but to receive two different CD's albeit by the same artist seems unlikely doesn't it?

Any comments appreciated.

I have one CD that came up brand new and had something like small "bubbles" (best word I've found for this) on the music side. It used to jump on my former CD player, but the CD3.5 manages to get through without any problems.

There is also the problem with bronzing CDs (usually manufactured by PDO UK in the late 80s/early 90s). They deteriorate slowly but surely until becoming unplayable, and you can't do a thing about it. You can recognize those with the heavy yellowing on the "credit" side.
