Big Brother - again!

Posted by: J.N. on 30 May 2005

I tried it again to see what all the fuss is about.

What I witnessed was a group of ordinary (to be polite) people, sitting around talking drivel.

Why would anyone be remotely interested or entertained by this?

Voyeurism?

The possibility of some confrontation/fighting/shagging in the future?

Please explain to me the appeal of this apparently proven televisual delight.

John.

It's cheap to make. That's the appeal to the makers. I don't know whats in it for the rest of us but at least it simplifies your options when considering what to watch. Effectively limiting your chioce to four stations.

BB is quite enjoyable watching at times, seeing youngsters selected to entertain us/making their way in media-hype careers.

Interesting dilemma posed for one of 13 so far - deliberately trying to be unpopular ...

I never watch these "reality" shows, but two things are clear.

1. The participants go on to gain (or re-attain) that modern curse of "celebrity".

2. Viewers tune in in the hope of seeing the participants f*cking.

That's not hard to understand, is it?
