hdx sw and hw upgrade?

hello,
the website of the german distributor music line states that the free hdx update to version 1.5 includes an hardware upgrade too. my dealer says i only need the software update.
has anyone details? has it to do with the 24 Bit/192 kHz playback?

Hi Michael,
Older HDX's can have a hardware update to enable 24/192 support. I haven't seen any details posted over here, but I do know that this update is not for free in every part of the world.
Personally, I don't care as the world is a little short of 24/192 files anyway
