What makes your system sing?

If one track, that every time you play it, really brings a huge smile to your face and reminds you of how good your system is what would it be?
For me playing Katie Melua's Piece by Piece always reminds of how good a system can be!

If the music brings my attention to my system, then my system has failed.

To put it another way, I hate impressive systems. Music is about emotion! If the musical emotion hits you, then, by definition, the sound must be right, even if the set did not draw attention to itself ...

shlomo mintz doing the prokofiev violin sonata no. 1 is the most natural sounding recording on my current system - it's almost as good as being there.

Brian Eno And J Peter Schwalm 'Drawn From Life' (2001) track 6 'Rising Dust'.

For me, it's any number of things that I haven't played for a while. It's a great feeling when you are reminded of something about that old track that you had forgotten or hadn't focused on before. That is great music played on a great system - churlish to separate the two, no? Recent rediscovery - Electrelane.

I sort of agree with George here...but it's also fun hearing something really make you smile at how great your system is. For me it's Thomas Dolby's 'I Scare Myself'.

Interesting cos I use Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks 'I Scare Myself'.

The dueling guitars of Roy Harper & Jimmy Page towards the end of "The Same Old Rock" from Roy Harper's "Stormcock" - totally convinced me that going to active SBLs was a great move !

Is the Barry Reynolds (I Scare Myself) LP available on CD?

I've looked but failed to find it.

Absolutely agree with that. My first exposure to Linn and Naim included someone saying that you would discover new things about any record you played; in a way you've never heard much of your collection until the replay equipment is of a high standard or words to that effect.

Most recently that occurred when listening to Power, Corruption and Lies by New Order. Blissful
