USB 2 soundcard device etc ...

Hello again.

After recently eventually buying portable just to play on wireless network with newish MS Vista I eventually concluded that with Realtek sound installed that I can record only in WMA 96kps.

Although it is not critical, as I still use trusty MS 98 eand XP m/cs for WAV sound-recording, I wonder if any knowing individual can recommend an external SSB 2 device which would allow me to record to WAV form internet in VISTA and from line/mic in?

Thanks.

P.S. Naturally I usually use external keyboard/mouse-sometimes nonitor with portable.

After trying a couple of external USB sound-card things I have just discovered that Microsoft have decided that only Vista Basic and Business or whatever can record WAV - and then only at 96 kps.

... and plugging in short 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo jack lead from headphone output into line in records all internet/streaming nicely into CDEX analogue in recording - which I then edit in Audacity.
