active 250 ibl

hello - ive done a search on this and its not throwing anything back, ive just bought a pair of old ibls mk 1 that seem to be in really good order, im a little undecided which way to go, has anybody ever gone active with a snaxo2/4 and a pair of 250's going into ibls? if so would a cdx/xps be much of a bottleneck (i want to get a s/h cds2 in about 8 months time)

A CDX/XPS would not be a bottleneck on almost any system! That said, I would ensure you have at least a 282/supercap as well (and preferably a 52/scap) before going active. You'd have more gains that way, than sticking a 102/hicap in with active 250s.

Frank.

Mr Shore,
Do you mean 6 * Hicaps ?

hello,
ive completely phrased this question wrong....
ive got 2 systems, one is:
cdx/xps/52/super/250/shaninian compass/fraim
second is:
meridian 200, dpa d2a converter, 102/napsc/hi/180/ibl mk 1
im trying to get the best balance out of both and i could either replace the one 250 with a pair of 135s and stick with the shahinian compass in the main system or I could go active, get another 250 and replace the shahinians with ibls in the main system.
which if either, would be the best way to go? its a bit of a obscure question, im almost quite reluctant to start swapping bits around, although i know i shouldnt be asking this sort of thing without doing so first.....
Has anybody made this sort of change before at all and if so what did they find?
I have to admit im pretty happy with the presentation of each at the moment and im not sure at all whether or not i should just save my money for a rainy day....any help much appreciated!
