Has anyone tried a PS Audio P300 or P500

Has anyone tried one of these units with a Naim system? I know the standard position with line conditioners but this product seems to be acting as a power supply.

John,
I was tried with my Naim system the smallest PS Audio conditioner about 8-10 months ago.
Interestingly, there are some slightly improvements, but dry sound which PS is bring to my sistem is unaceptable above all.
Hope this help.

Yes, I tried a PS300 in my setup.
[A] 135s plugged into the PS300 was cleaner but in all other respects really worse, e.g. dynamics was totally destroyed.
[B] Sources in the PS300 was different. Again cleaner, but I still preferred without PS300 without any hesitate.
[C] Big surprise of the day: only Armageddon in the PS300 was a huge improvement!!! Also it ws possible to set the frequency of the PS300 so that you can play 45s. My conclusion: because the Armageddon is not in the signal path there is no downside. And because the Armageddon is just a transformer directly connected to the motor it responds most sensitive to mains pollution --> therefor the PS300 can give all it's merits. The performance gut so much better, just unbelievable. Biggest upgrade to a fully naimed LP12!

Hello John,
A P500 is on its way to me at present. I have tried a dedicated spur, with no success. I have also tried a dedicated ring main, without success. Various filters did not seem able to improve the sound either. The mains in Abu Dhabi seems to be very dirty and my XPS sometimes is really groaning. Sometimes it is silent. So my final solution has been regeneration. The new P500 appears to be more sophisticated than the older units and I will post a report once the equipment is installed and checked out.

John--
I tried a P600 (I think) a few years ago. While it definitely cleaned up the sound, it also sucked some of the life out of the music. As others here have noted, power amps are a definite no-no.
OTOH, I believe Mark Dunn uses a P300 and has reported terrific results with it, and still uses it AFAIK.
Best,
Bob

Ha!!
Well my P500 arrived. I was hoping to start my report with criticism of the UK supplier (Ultimate Sonics) and praise for Audio Outlet, who have so far been most helpful (unlike Ultimate Sonics).
However, I have not received the unit I ordered and it has the wrong type of sockets. So I will have to report back at some time in the future. So watch out for some more news!!
