England football stars to endorse new cologne, ' L'Eau de Chite'.

Another dismal performance yesterday against a team who played well, yes, but ultimately are not going to win the European Championship.
If England really think they are contenders they will need to despatch teams like this without too much trouble.
The passing was atrocious and particularly the final ball.
Not too much has moved on since Eriksson left, I feel.
Congratulations to the scots on a fantastic win by the way.

Will Rooney be to the current manager what Beckham was to the previous one? Why, oh why, do out of form players get automatic picks?

But I still can't get my head around Michael Carrick anchor man.

Only caught the 2nd half. I though they missed the energy of Owen Hargreaves in the middle. (Who'd have thought we'd be saying that 6 months ago?)
Lamps is still treading water for England. Along with Rooney, he's another one of the regular picks no matter what his real form is. I'd still like it to be a straight of Stevie G or Lamps to play alongside Hargreaves (Carrick 2nd choice to Hargreaves for me) and have a real wide player (Lennon/SWP) out on the right. If Downing doesn't get his act together, then SWP can carry on where he left off yesterday - on the Left.
The defence almost picks itself, the only concern now being maybe Red Nev. I think his legs are just about showing the signs of going but i don't see anyone around who's really pushing him either.
If he can stay injury free, then Woodgate has to knocking on the door. On form, i rate him as the best defender in the country. A real class act.
With Rooney's form as it is, maybe the little bald fella from Everton is worth a run. Sven gave him the bums rush when he started him on the left sometime ago. WTF was that about?
Anyway, on to Wednesday...

Less careful build up and more sheer pressure and attack would make all the difference.
For example Reading in thier first season in the Premiership seem to be hell bend on scoring first and making the other team play catch-up.
Come on you Royals!
Also why not change the rules to say that who ever scores first in the event of a draw after extra time wins? This would play hell with the Portagese strategy of relying on penalties and should increase the pace of play. just look at rugby with bonus points for scoring a certain number of tries.

Probably, "F**k me, can't they do anything right?"
Why is it you take 11 of the best football players in the premiership, put them in white shirts and they go to pieces?
Is it the manager, the players, the preasure?
Something gets to them!

Probably preparing what he was going to say in the post match interview using as many cliches as he could muster:
Interviewer: What went wrong Steve?
SMc: Well I thought we retained possession well and contained them in the first half without offering too much of a threat ourselves. Our passing was much better and I thought we were fairly comfortable with the new system.
In the second half we conceded a silly goal and, as you know, goals change games. The second goal was just a freak and then we were really on the back foot. But we've got to take the positives from this and look forward to the next game when we should have a few of our injured players back as well as Steven Gerrard. There's still a lot to play for and basically if we win all our remaining games we should win the group. We musn't forget that this is a very tough place to come and play and they are undefeated in qualifying competitions here. This is a good side we were playing tonight and it is no disgrace to lose here. The players are disappointed but they're remaining positive and we know it is still in our own hands.
Interviewer: Actually it was a load of shit, wasn't it, Steve?
SMc: Yeah!

Oh no Mark ... now you've done it. Say 3 Hail Mary's; or run round in cirles and spit; or throw salt over your shoulder - just do something.
Did you know "his name" + blunder produces 940,000 results in Google!!! Ah well it cannot get any worse, until 24th March 2007 - by which time The Ashes will be safely returned to Lords (yeh as if!) and we will have won a one-day International

Sorry Steve, I don't know what came over me.
It was just the shock of the very suggestion!
Of course we are going to win the Ashes, the rugby world cup next year, the cricket world cup and the olympics in 2012......or the England manager's a dutchman (should have been!)

Yes it is. What a shambles. For the first time I can remember, I'm not unhappy at England losing.
I'm far from his biggest fan, but surely David Beckham would have improved the side Mclaren picked tonight.
Hopefully the FA will get Mourinho next summer if Chelsea don't win the Champions League.

McClaren takes responsibility for England defeat
ZAGREB (Reuters) - England manager Steve McClaren said he was to blame for his team's 2-0 defeat to Croatia in their Euro 2008 qualifier on Wednesday.
"Croatia won the game because of my mistakes. The tactics obviously didn't work," he told reporters.
"I accept the plaudits when we win so I have to accept the criticism when we lose."
He's not wrong!

Never mind, Ian, you're still doing better than England with some good wins under your belt. Our victories have come against those world football powers Andorra and Macedonia (narrowly!).
