nightclub, trendy shopping mall, boutique jewelery workshops (it's not far from hatton garden), offices?... maybe its the cost of redevelopment - or what they can make out of the land by errecting an office building there.
I used to walk around that area often. thanks for the memory!

agreed - that's a great picture.
Yes, a very great shot. Not because it depicts a girl, but because of the well observed almost parallel zigzag lines (banisters/girls limbs) and the inherent movement in the picture.
BTW many of the urban photos in this thread are quite remarkable. Photos of this quality are always interesting.

It's got a few leaks here and there, but it's my home from home for two weeks every month.....although not through choice....well, actually I suppose that's not exactly true as I chose to accept the job didn't I.......
......plus I haven't got a clue what I'd be doing if I wasn't doing this!!
Can't complain really, I'm on dayshift this trip which makes a nice change and the money/time-off is what we all live for....well, apart from the few 'career' orientated people, you know the type.....
Working Christmas and New Year next month though and that sucks but all in all I can't complain.
How's your move from IT going Jon....???

Err...not great, I'm afraid
My current contract comes to an end early next month, and then...I really don't know. A quiet time of the year employment-wise too. Luckily I've got a few £££ put away so getting work straight away is not an imperative right now.
Oh well .. * sigh *

That's not so good Jon, the job not the savings, obviously.....
Good Luck!
Hope something comes up for you.

Perhaps Ali, but thanks for the good wishes, anyway
It would be good if I could get something permanent; there's a limit to how long I can live with all this uncertainty!

If you don't mind me asking, did you saturate the colours a bit with that shot?

Deane,
Yes. I increased the contrast a bit to get more of an emphasis on the structure of the roof. I am using my i-photo on a Mac which has very few tools. Tonight I ordered myself Adobe Element.
I sitll did not figure out how to reduce the size of the file without reducing the size of the images which are coming out way too small on the NAIM site.
If you are interested in seeing those images I posted in full size you can send me your e-mail adress to: hronen@comcast.net and I will be glad to send them to you.
I liked very mush your Shot Tower museum. It is almost a B&W image with a few more tones.

Haim

Haim download a programme from macupdate called imagewell.
Drag the photo you want to upload onto image well, there you can resize it without losing quality.
Imagewell has setting for upload to .Mac or web storage of your choice.

I'm glad garyi came up with a Mac solution to resizing. I just use the MS image-resizing Powertoy. Thanks for the compliment about the Shot Tower shot.
Here's a fairly urban photo:
