Just received a pioneer BDP-51fd all in for £209.95

Can you say where from?

I was reading up on the BDPLX71 on the trusted reviews site then checked out the BDP-51fd review clicked the latest price and it took me to;

www.atlantic2u.com

I actually phoned my order through and received next day in England.

I just visited the site but it doesn't list the BDP-51fd anymore so I phoned them and was told they have 2 left in stock.

Failing that Richers have ex dems in stock at £250.

All the best

As a slight aside, does anyone have any general comments about a Sony BDP-S360, now available for £100.
BD-ROM (BonusView; Profile 1.1)
BD-ROM (BD-Live; Profile 2.0) are these the latest?
No 7.1 no SCART & S video. No VCD or S-VCD.

Marantz UDP 9004 when it comes to sound. Plays CD very well. Wonder if not better than CDS3 + 555PS. Unfortunately it works better with balanced connection than with RCA connections, so not in my list of consideration with a Naim set-up.

I managed to get the 560 (wireless) for £116 a couple of weeks ago but the 360 is well regarded - try this though

A second aside if 3D takes off will that involve another player or is it a new TV/processor box?

Yep, that player will do betamax, vhs, dvd, bluray and 3d all in one so you'll be able to dump your bluray and video player. Might still need those funny glasses though

But for the price of a cheap Oneforall remote and a tad of googling it can be MR DVD.

Yep - it has been getting up to all sorts of mischief. Sometimes, no issue, at other times a real pain. Earlier it went off on the letter A, adding about 200 of them into one of my forum replies. Booked in for a visit Wednesday to the Apple Genius Bar.

I'm feeding my Pioneer LX08 via my Pioneer LX82 using PQLS and then via unity gain on my SuperNait (not tried using the AV amp to run my front L/R). It sounds very good indeed. Far better than anything else I have heard from a BR player. TBH it sounds better than my CD5x did through the Arcam 888/777 pre/pro.

It is not quite as good as my CD5x (Hi-Cap) & SuperNait (Hi-Cap) combination, but if I didn't know better I would be happy with what it does.

I'm running an 8mb USB stick with 200 WAV files through the LX82 at the moment on random play. It sounds a lot better than my Squeezebox playing via the DAC on my SuperNait. Almost as good as the CD.

I'm using a combination of WAV files ripped using Winamp and EAC. I think the EAC files sound better but I'm using Windows 7 (64) and EAC keeps locking up my computer - so I've given up. Anyone know of a high quality ripper to replace EAC?

Regards,
Huw
