Sloop's Inaugural Awards Ceremony

Posted by: Sloop John B on 21 July 2010

For no specific prize at all,
in no particular order
and for no other reason than they've effected me outside the normal parameters of a forum...........

R0TF

For his great enthusiasm be it for Naim, Rega, HMHB, Judie, Sandy etc.
For his humour – his plargartism of Douglas Adams was one of the best posts I’ve read in ages.
For his decency in helping me out with a phonostage

Fred Simon

For the many directions he has sent me in on this musical we share here.
For his knowledgeable but not preachy posts on wide areas of music.
For his musical output of which Dreamhouse remains my favourite.

JWM
For loving Rory Gallagher and Jesus.

GFFG

George for being Fredrick for being a standard bearer for decency.
For the time spent recommending classical recordings for my virginal ears to appreciate.

IanG(too)

For selling me his 202
For always seeming to be one step ahead on the Naim ladder and his honest recommendations from his relatively lofty position.

TAM

For his enthusiasm for most things classical and Myles Davis.
A gentleman in the true sense.

SJUST

For the direction he sent my musical odyssey on.
For keeping Santa alive in the Sloop household for one further year

and a merit award for everyone who helped me with my computer / IPOD / holidays / TV viewing in the Padded Cell

there are 2 people who should be on this list who know who they are and can probably work out the reasons they're not included in print but are there in spirit.

Thanks I've never won an award before.

It is interesting to note, that later, a wily forum moderator will send my post backwards in time through a temporal warp and Douglas, seeing this while indulging in a Pan-Galactic-Gargle-Blaster, will actually plagiarise me. I know because as a consequence of this, Douglas successfully sued me for infringement of the incomprehensibly tortuous Galactic Copyright law.
