Window cleaning

Chaps
Window cleaners are rarer than chickens teeth in this neck of the woods and I doubt if we have seen a window cleaner for over 5 years.
One called on my door the other night and asked for £25 to clean them. I thought bugger that and declined. He drove off in his flash sports car.
I have had enough of cleaning the things using ladders etc and though it time to invest a a good semi professional quality kit with a telescopic pole and screw on brushes and rubbers etc.
I done a search on google and there are dozens ranging from a few quid up to a couple of hundred.
This forum seems to be the font of all good knowledge, so I am hoping if anyone can make a good recommendation.
Regards
Mick

Can one no longer procure the services of a homeless street urchin for this task?
Things started to go downhill when women got the vote.
Harumph.

Don't the Cub Scouts have bob-a-job any more? I can still remember pushing coal trucks down the mines for 5P in old money. The mine owner was called Parry I think.

Yes and hasn't the weather deteriorated since women started to forecast/present it. They'll never replace the horse.

You Scots are TIGHT!
Posted on: 30 June 2005 by BLT
Tight, nope - the tightest people that I ever came across was when I worked in Hampshire, I have never seen such meaness!
The Scots are just careful with money, and I'm technically a Geordie anyway...

I've never met a tight Jock in my life, and can honestly say I've had more experience of them in close quarters than our Nigel has had pints of apple juice.
Fritz Von I've never met a nice White South African though (maybe they're all living there and don't gob off whils't on holiday like most Nationals do, some much more than others)

John.

I think they have all come to NZ.

No wellyspyder,
some of them went to NZ, the rest came to London!
And if they're from Johannesburg you can bet your bottom dollar they don't wanna go back!!
Cheers,
Jon

Dear Jon
NOOOOOOOOO! Only the gloomy ones went to your neck of the woods and the cheery ones to NZ for the weather
Posted on: 30 June 2005 by JonR
Hmmm....cheery South Africans? I shall have to come to your neck of the woods one day to investigate this strange phenomenon for myself!

Please do Jon, let me know when and I think I will be able to get a few together for your inspection

Chaps
I purchased the WR2 model from this supplier complete with detergent and applicator etc.
http://www.hgpromotions.com/window_conservatory_cleaning.phpIt took about 20 minutes to clean my upstairs windows of which there are 8.
This is a solid professional bit of kit and should give those bloody window cleaners a few sleepness nights.
My windows and window frames glisten like new.
Good investment.

Mick

Yes Michael, but how long would it take you to do them alone, without Mrs Mick doing the work whils't you consult her ?
