LP12 Lid

Posted by: Dobbin on 24 January 2003

I've always been led to believe that playing a record with the lid down should be avoided. I presume the space acts as an echo chamber and (detrimentally) affects the mechanics of the cartridge.

Anyone got an opinion on simply raising the lid vs. taking the thing off completely?

Lid off, baseboard off. Most definitely.

And change the big rubber Linn feet for the small 3M feet that M*n* use.

Unfortunately, I sold my LP12 but maby I buy a new one or a P9.
Why do Rega recomend lid down; anyone tried on a rega.
Second, dont use M3 with Fraim, totally destroys everything. On Mana, maby it brings another fault that mask the first filtration.
