Has anyone checked out their home via Street View?
Great ability, but is it a bit over the top privacy wise?
Wotcha reckon

If the views have been collected in accordance with local laws then you have nothing worry about although in the USofA some views have been collected after visiting private property ie drive ways and the like and these have been subjected to court scrutiny - see loads in Google.

My house picture was taken on a Tuesday before 13:00 less than a year ago more than 3 months ago. I wonder how often the pictures are up dated?

I have used it to look at my Sydney house. We know the day the picture was taken as my wife's friend is sat outside the house in her car waiting for my wife to come home - we remember that event, This just goes to show how it could invade privacy. For me it is a bit of fun checking out the places I knew in sydney - work, home, milesmiles house, harry the naim dealer and distributor etc etc.

PS - it is bloody clever being able to do a 360 degree turn outside my house to look up and down the road, at the neighbours etc. Very cool.

I use it often to take a look at my house in Miami. They could be a little better in proactively monitoring their footage so - recently you could see a house on fire, a guy passed out drunk in his front yard etc.
