Hi Folks, i was recommended this by Robert Ritchie, Naim dealer in Montrose and its a gem.
Good music and great production.I could not believe it was actually in the charts.

Picked it up a few days ago and have listened to it 6/7 times now. It is a gem of an album and a great recording.

Would like to know what his earlier stuff is like.

I've had this for a few weeks now. It's alright but not as good as the preceeding 'On and On' album.

I would reinforce George's comment - I have both albums, and 'On and On' is much, much better as far as I'm concerned. It's also a beautifully clean and simple recording.

The earlier 'Bushfire Fairytales' didn't grab me though.

I first heard this disc in the Naim room at the 2005 AV show in NY. Great, easy music for people that work hard all week.

Hi ! I *love* Jack Johnson!! - it was actually me who introduced Jack to George and co when they came over for a Naim music soiree!! Wasn't it ,eh ?? !! I'm the official "Jack Johnson guru" he hee...

I do like all three of his albums , but agree with what's been said "On and On" is better in terms of production - David , I think if you were impressed by his new album then "on and on" is a must - you'll love it too !

I heard about Jack from an old boyfriend about a year and a bit ago and also because a lot of my friends (including myself) play guitar and so his songs are great for learning ! Jack Johnson is from Hawaii and is a Surfer / turned musician . He also makes Surf films and some of his songs feature on the soundtrack to one of them "Thicker than water". I have this album, but if you are more into the "recording / technical" elements of music I don't really recommend it as such. I bought it because it has other musical artists I like such as Finlay Quaye too.

Anyway - glad another fan of Mr Johnson on the board! He's brilliant!

A slight diagreement in this thread.
I find jack Johnson to be one of the most BORING artists around today. Every record sounds the same with just differnt lyrics.
Bur each to there own ?

I like Jack but the latest just feels more of the same. That's fine I suppose, just wished/hoped for a touch more. The latest sounds more family oriented....

I just bought this on spec - having heard the TV ad which has been playing recently. I'm enjoying it at the moment since the weather here is so much like Jack's Hawaiian home. Cheery songs with a good beat to barbeque by.

It might be a bit 'happy' for a dark November night.
