Who do you think has received the least recognition/success considering their talent?

Mine choice has to be Jo Ann Kelly

Thanks very much for the detailed post ROTF.
I've just ordered my copy - with the extra track. Cool

Please note it is different picture from the one I may have posted previously (can't recall have I posted it before?) - it is the one from the latest version of the CD rather than the original version - Basia has shrunk ever so slightly.

She's on tour around Canada at the moment, but hopefully a new album and hat later in the year.

She still looks like a grown up version of my friends 10-year old daughter.

LONNIE DONEGAN and BRAND X.

I nominate The Innocence Mission, from Pennsylvania, who have been producing great, overlooked, albums for a long time. Their three latest albums are pared down folk/rock masterpieces - especially "Birds of My Neighbourhood" which charts band members Karen and Don Peris' grief, after Karen's late miscarriage, and the eventual return of hope. They are Catholics, and the Christian conception of the good life informs many of their songs, but not in that embarassing happy-clappy "Jesus loves you" way. If you admire melodic folk/rock/pop, and female singer songwriters (did I mention that Karen Peris has the voice of an angel), do check them out:

Are you on a Retainer ROTF, she'll be top of the 'Hit Parade' by the time your finished Winker

Do you think so? Some real class in the Hit Parade would not go amiss.

A Hit Parade with Basia Bulat, Karine Polwart, Rachel Unthank, Angie Palmer, Waking The Witch, Ruth Notman, Katie Doherty, Kate Walsh, Eddi Reader and Jenna Wills - now that's what I call music.
