this.Apparently it is 'dynamic, modern and flexible'. I think it is dull, forgettable and plain ugly. Looks like something knocked up on 'My First Graphics Software' complete with dubious font. The coulours are not even logical (or nice); what about red, white and blue?

Oh dear...
Well, I am a graphic designer and... IMHO it's terrible.
It looks like they have gone too far in trying to make it 'modern'. The angled 'numbers' which just don't look right - if they mean 2012 then why the 'dot' in front of last '2'. Too many angles, too much emphasis on the date and enough on not the location/event. The kiddy colours, are naff too - however good thing they didn't use black with a white shadow/outline or it would have echoes of a German 'SS' logo !
Also note how the original Olympic symbol is placed in a shape that looks like Australia !! I could go on but it pains me too much to look at it. A missed opportunity.

I also though one element looked like the Aussie Pink Floyd logo (an austalian continent shaped triangle from the DSOTM cover).

Yeah, but it only cost £400k so what do you expect?!! The money saved by not paying out for something good should go some way to offsetting the cost when the stadium goes way over budget.

Absolute crap ... unless it's supposed to look like two figures scrapping. The guy on the left has just "stuck the heid" on the figure on the right and is also giving him a size 2012 in the gonads causing his opponent to double over in agony. Ouch.
I can only assume it's really a trick logo along the lines of the Rorschach inkblot test. God knows why though ?
Our cat's have vomited better looking logo's than that.

It is for the Winter Olympics '10. Not great, in my opinion but less offensive than Ol' Pinky...
