Mayware adaptors versus retermination to DIN?

Hi folks.

Just a quick question. I've recently been through the mill trying to sort out my interconnects and I've made quite a bit of use of the little Mayware RCA Phono -> 5-pin DIN adaptors, due to the difficulty in auditioning properly DIN-terminated interconnects.

Obviously I know that these adaptors are not perfect, but I wondered how much I can expect to gain by having properly terminated connections. The gear is not Naim, but the principle should be exactly the same.

Ta,

I would echo Roy`s comments.... great for an initial impression but once you have chosen the cable get it properly terminated.....it sounds cleaner

I was merely asking to see if anyone would echo my findings - my new interconnects are off getting reterminated with DIN plugs as we speak. I had to use the Mayware, which also shares the earth between pins three and four (which is fine for Naim but not optimal for DNM), yet the character of the interconnects still shone through. Can't wait to get them all properly terminated, though big grin

Gulp, he's pricy. My dealer gave me a couple for free! But then, I had just bought a new preamp!

They're very useful wee things...
