Fraim and LP12
Posted by: Adolfo Aguiar on 09 December 2003
My system consists of :
- LP12 on Mana Reference
- CDX, NAC72, HiCap, NAP250 on Fraim base + 3levels
The resolution (access to music nuances) of the LP12 is higher on Mana than on top of the Fraim stack.
The question is : can I improve my Fraim setup (for instance, two racks) in order to obtain at least the same resolution I get from Mana?

One of the NANA guys posted that the LP12 needed the following Fraim setup, but was then better than phase-1 Mana (he didn't like the effect of Mana beyond Phase-1):-
Fraim level with glass, on top of
Empty Fraim level with no glass, on top of
Empty Fraim base with no glass
This is expensive enough to make the Mana look like a budget option!
cheers, Martin

My LP12 is on a Fraim 4 tier stack and it is miles better than the Mana it replaced. It's hard to diagnose your problem without more info I am afraid. It's not as easy as a stand question.

Dev,
I would not say I have a problem. It seeems that your move from Mana to Fraim is not comparable with mine : as far as I understood, you went from a Mana rack to Fraim while I am just moving the LP12 from a Mana Ref to the top of a 4-tier Fraim.
Anyway, as per Martin Payne, the guys from NANA have already identified the Fraim configuration required to beat Mana.
Martin,
Thanks for the info.

Dev, are your lower levels of fraim occupied, and what level of Mana were you using ?
