Just had my CD 5 Chipped

I've just had my CD5 chipped today free of charge at my local dealer (Thank you Naim) so I can now play my Copy Protected Discs. But I've noticed a slight change,I've found on listening that the vocals are far more forward sounding with more detail and presence, I thought I was imagining it so I contacted my dealer and he said it shouldn't have made any difference, but it has, I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience or is it my imagination!!!, I'd like to get any definitive views on this.
