Mighty Sam McClean - give it up to love

Posted by: Fisbey on 16 September 2005

A really nice bloke at Studio 99 gave me a copy of this years ago - it really is an excellent CD, the title track track in particular is really wonderful.

Had a look for the CD last night and I can't find it! Frown

Agree it's a great record. I have it on Vinyl (regrettably premium 180g type). I think Audioquest (the cable company) funded the record.

I love it, I might just go and play it right now - yummy

Dev -- a very rare day off

Hi Fisbey
I ahve a copy on a JVC XRCD which I bought in the States. It is copyrighted to Audioquest in 1993. It's a wonderful album and sounds fabulous, at least in this guise. He has a marvellous voice. I also have his "keep on movin'" album on the same label. I picked up quite a few XRCDs that trip, including these two, and several blues and jazz titles. The sound quality is exemplary on all of them.

I agree with those who really like this album. I have it on cd form (by Audioquest) and the man can sing!!!

I ahve, or had this too, and while I can agree that it's beautifully recorded I find it's interest wains after 3 or 4 cuts.

(small remark to Chris Kelly, Haven't you seen the edit/delete icon on your posts to correct the spelling mistakes ?)

Peter
Thanks for the snide comment. If I'd seen it I would have used it.

I'm sorry Chris, I had no intention of being snide, and I realise, now, that what I wrote could have been intepreted that way. My apologies.

Keep On Movin' is another very good album, recorded by AudioQuest. I have it on CD and 180g vinyl. I prefer the slow songs on the album.

No problem Peter. I was probably in a grouchy mood too. C'est la vie. And I still like the album!

OK I've just ordered another copy - I expect the original will turn up now!

just received my new copy - it's a JVC 'enhanced' copy - if it's as good as or better than the original I'll be a happy bunny!

Fisbey
That sounds very like the one I picked up in the USA. Have to say the sound quality is exemplary.
Enjoy it.

Excellent!

Very good recording - appears to be more detailed than I remember on my original copy woo hoo!
