Firefox and Yahoo Mail???
Posted by: djftw on 23 May 2008
Help, does anyone have any idea why this message is coming up when I try to get to the Yahoo Mail page in Firefox? It was working fine earlier, other websites seem fine in Firefox, and Yahoo Mail works in IE. No settings have been changed, cookies are enabled etc...
Cheers,
Dom

Works fine for me on Firefox 2.0.0.14 and an XP machine.

Hmm, stranger still, I'm also using 2.0.0.14, but on a Vista machine.

OK, resolved by deleting cookies, but now the spell checker seems to have stoped working!

Sounds about right for Vista, what a pile of rubbish.
I suggest you upgrade to XP, which is much better.
By the way, Firefox 3 RC1 has been released and that is better than Firefox 2

Oh trust me I know. I had to spend about 24 hours editing the registry before I was vaguely happy with what it was doing, and what it would let me do! Only haven't rolled back to XP as it is a brand new laptop "designed for Vista" and they don't appear to offer XP drivers. Hopefully next time I break the thing I'll have enough money for a MacBook!

When XP was new I used Windows 2000 where XP drivers weren't available and had no problems.
As Vista is basically XP, screwed up thanks to the 10 million lines of extra code, I would expect the Vista drivers to work in XP too.

I get a similar message sometimes (once every week or two) but it doesn't seem to persist - and I'm using XP

Microsoft Vista - the best advert LINUX has ever had!
