Scorcher

Posted by: Andrew Randle on 18 July 2006

Today I'd been having a spot of computer bother. Been doing some intensive number crunching and the whole PC was shutting down after about an hour into an 8 hour computation.

Almost exhausted all possibilities, and then it hit me... Today we are experiencing rather high temperatures in the UK, so I ended up taking the top off the PC and everything seems to be fine Smile

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing any wierd side-effects from the heat.

I'm certainly going to need my bath come Friday Smile

The roads are melting and the surface is coming off in lumps!

I'm only wearing a pair of shorts, sat at my desk.

Savour that mental image if you will.

Got a dinky fan whirring in my office at home - seems to allow the Linksys router to work more efficiently as well...

The advantage of working from home is that when it gets too hot I go sit in the kids paddling pool for a while. Downside is keeping the little blighters out of my office when I need to concentrate.

Yes, I've decided to bring mine forward to Friday as well, Rasher.

The hot weather is great for me as I work for a hire company and we make an absolute mint from hiring air conditioners when it's like this.
Massive headaches as well though, as demand far outstrips supply.
