The Guinness Premiership Thread
Posted by: Chillkram on 12 January 2007
As we have a football thread I think we need a Guinness Premiership thread as well in the run up to Wasps taking revenge at Welford Road in April.
Details can be found here on the season so far.
Remember, Wasps are the play off kings!

Right - see you at Twickers then, PB! Mine's a pint...![]()
Spot on![]()
Well well, I have been offered and accepted a ticket for the HC on Sunday.
Two trips to Twickers in just 8 days, this time I can sit back and enjoy the game

You can ALL buy me a pint for the suffering of last Saturday

I have to repeat, that I shall be chearing on the TIGERS to do the treble, and if they play as they did last last week, it will quite a pleasure to watch.
I will not be wearing a GLAWS shirt out of respect.

Great news FF!
S*ds Law - the railway is right up the shoot, so I'm having to travel by car, which wasn't the plan at all. A beerless Treble
I'll be the one in the green shirt with red and white stripes with two sad-looking geezers in black and yellow...

As I am going as a privateer I am having to drive up to London as well, pity not enough time to see Northpole and hear his Groove + beforehand.
Who other than Mark is the Wasps supporter?
Not a bad week end in prospect, Flyfishing Saturday, then Twickenham Sunday.
Just because you will beerless I am sure you can still manage to buy me a girlie half

JamieWednesday.
We're above the snowline in the new South Stand.
I'll happily buy you a girlie half - perhaps your way of telling us you're a girlie?

Has PB got a ticket, then?

I've got FF's mobile number - and I know his real name (Brian Moore*) - we can all meet up and you can say that to his face...

Yeh Yeh and I have your number too James

I now know that I am in the East stand middle tier. That makes it a pain to get to the Guinness Village, but if you are drinking lemonade it won't make any difference

If you need a clue I used to play lock, and strangely enough the team played in cherry & white hooped shirts. little did I realise then I would be living near GLAWS.
James I am surprised that you can spend the day at Twickers when you have a newly refurbished 82 sitting at home.
Mark go easy with your compliments

Bad news for the Wasps fans, the twin towers will be playing on Sunday

Posted on: 18 May 2007 by JWM

Daryl Gibson returns to the Tigers starting line up for this Sunday's Heineken Cup Final against London Wasps at Twickenham (kick-off 2.30pm).
The former All Black centre replaces Ollie Smith, who drops to the replacements bench.
Frank Murphy partners Andy Goode at half-back, with Dan Hipkiss joining Gibson in midfield and Geordan Murphy, Seru Rabeni and Alesana Tuilagi forming an exciting back three.
In the pack, Shane Jennings starts at openside flanker in his last game for the club, with Lewis Moody and Martin Corry named alongside him in the back row.
Ben Kay and Louis Deacon form an all-England second row pairing, with international colleagues Julian White and George Chuter joining Argentinean prop Marcos Ayerza in the front row.
Ian Humphreys replaces the ineligible Ben Youngs on the bench, with Sam Vesty included with Smith, Brett Deacon, Leo Cullen, Alex Moreno and James Buckland for the club's third Twickenham final of the season.

And this seems to be the secret weapon the Pests are fielding against Tigers:

Posted on: 18 May 2007 by Polarbear
Is that Jeremy Beadle in there

Posted on: 18 May 2007 by flyfisher
Having seen the Tigers' team sheet, I think Wasps if they have any sense better bend over and kiss their backsides goodbye, becuase they are not going to see the light of day on Sunday.

You know, I suspect I'm going to be busy with the cut & paste buttons on Sunday night to make you all feel a little bit silly for bigging up the Steradent mob ahead of the game...

Think about it James, they are playing their last game for Pat Howard, and what ever you think of aussies they play sport to win.
The taking of all three cups is as good as it gets here.
If they were an average calibre team, I would not have bothered as a GLAWS supporter to go back to twickenham eight days after our humiliation.
I want to see this match because it will be special as a rugger supporter.

All ready for tomorrow then boys?
You've clearly nailed your colours to the mast, FF! And to think I was supporting the Cherry and Whites last week!
So it's me and JW against the world!
Meanwhile, PB's entertaining an attractive blonde (hopefully in a sports bar PB!) and is going to miss all the action - well the rugby action at any rate!
I guess we'll just have to fill you in on here as to how Wasps smashed Tigers off the park to regain the Heineken Cup when we get back tomorrow evening!
