The Guinness Premiership Thread
Posted by: Chillkram on 12 January 2007
As we have a football thread I think we need a Guinness Premiership thread as well in the run up to Wasps taking revenge at Welford Road in April.
Details can be found here on the season so far.
Remember, Wasps are the play off kings!

It's all warming up nicely.
Posted on: 20 January 2007 by Polarbear
well what can I say, result of the season. Tigers were up for that one today.

I've got my tickets to see Wasps v Sale Sharks on 18th February and will be taking my 12 year daughter and 7 year old son.
It should be a good warm up game before we go big game hunting in April!

So who do you think has come out the better of the Saturday games, then Mark?
Judging by the more-than-Monty-spin in your link titles, I have to wonder ... you're not Alastair Campbell in disguise are you?
James - rrrrhhhh (if that's how you spell 'roar' onomatapoeicly)

Obviously we're not interested in finishing top as you know, James, that's not what we do. We conserve energy, win the play offs and then hammer the top team in the final. It's all going very well so far, thank you very much!

Which means...?
...it's Leicester's turn this year.

Which actually means that all true rugby supporters know that these clubs won the season they topped the table.
2002/3 Gloucester
2003/4 Bath
2004/5 Leicester
2005/6 Sale
A significant lack of PESTS in that list :-)

Hey, we didn't invent the system! And it is the same for everybody. We have just exploited it better than anyone else!

A magnificent display from Leicester Tigers to thrash the Premierships's bottom team Worcester (who haven't won a game at home all season) 6-13 today.
I'm off with my children to watch some proper rugby tomorrow at Adams Park as the 'Pests' take on Sale.
Should be a good game.

Well it's unsporting to allow the oppo to believe that you're totally invincible...
Good luck for tomorrow, Pests, you'll need it.

James
We're going to give Sale a good tonking in preparation for coming up to Welford Rd to give theTabbies Tigers a thrashing in April.
Are you going to that game by any chance?

PS ... allowing the 6 points I mean ...
Posted on: 17 February 2007 by Chillkram
Do you mean the 6 points that Sale are below us, James?
Posted on: 17 February 2007 by JWM
No, I really meant the 6 points Tigers allowed Warriors to score...
But never mind the 6 points below Pests, it's the 12 points above you need to think about ... Grrr

We like to lull the leaders in to a false sense of security and then wham we get them in the final as you can see from the facts I posted earlier in this thread.

I am not grudging in offering my congratulations on Wasps taking the Sale team from behind.

Just got back, James.
A good performance from Wasps apart from the first 10 mins and the last 5. The rest of the game we completely dominated and should have won by a larger margin. It was a bit of a shock to go 0-10 down so early on but after that we really took hold of proceedings. I'm not sure what happened with Voyce's first 'try' as Spreaders appeared to have awarded it at first. I'll have to watch the highlights at 6.30 to find out.
The only downer on the day was standing waiting in the cold for over an hour for the bus back to the park and ride car park. I still haven't warmed up yet.
Looks like that game in April is going to be really fascinating, James. I'm looking forward to it.

England are looking good for a big win
Posted on: 19 February 2007 by JamieWednesday
Yeah good win and Golden boy's unlikely to be playing for Newcastle on Friday, so we should have another one then.
Like I said before though, thank heaven for the bonus points (although if His representatives move among Tigers supporters, this may outflank those...)

He's been a bit quiet this weekend, Jamie. He must be away. I think we've got away with that embarassing thrashing!
