The Guinness Premiership Thread

Posted by: Chillkram on 12 January 2007

As we have a football thread I think we need a Guinness Premiership thread as well in the run up to Wasps taking revenge at Welford Road in April.

Details can be found here on the season so far.

Remember, Wasps are the play off kings!

No you haven't ... but saved from utter ridicule only by the fact Tigers lost by 1 point (as opposed to 26 points), and an even worse international defeat ... Frown

Ahh well. At least Chelsea, got their first trophy of the season.

If you've got a beer in your hand, Mark, I'd start crying in it - you might as well get well-practised for 28th April...

Looks like Tigers are handling Harlequins with some ease at the moment! Big Grin

27-22 and all over, but if Jarvis had kicked better, Quins would have won.

Ah, but they didn't Winker

All will be put into perspective when Wasps beat Tigers on 28th April at Welford Rd, PB!
And then again at HQ for the Premiership final Winker

Wasps, ahem, struggled past high-flying Bristol today. Big Grin

PB/James. You must be looking forward to the pests coming to town! Eek

OK, so the pests beat the second (note : second) in the league by a small margin...

Slight off-day for the Tigers - but perhaps understandable in the combined circumstances of playing against a side as good as Gloucester and half of your preferred line up are called away on international duty...

But no more off days, please, chaps. RRRRrrrrr.

OK, the Anglo-Welsh Cup isn't the Premiership, but the semi-final I'm thinking of included two Premiership teams (which could one of those be, I wonder...?)

Bit of a hiccough at the beginning of the second half, I thought - well done Sale on coming out the blocks so fast! - but at the end of the day...

JOB DONE, TIGERS! - 2007 Twickers Final No1.

How are the pests doing in the Anglo Welsh Cup, Mark?

We thought we'd let you win something this year, for a change!

Awesome display from Wasps to go through to the semi finals of the Heineken Cup.

The way the forwards shunted the Leinster pack around, even with a man down, was something to behold. And 2 tries scored with Lol in the bin!

It's funny though; doesn't Leinster sound a bit like Leicester, James. Change a couple of letters around and that scoreline could repeat itself in late April!

A narrow victory for Tigers against a team playing in pink! Do you think they were trying to tell you something, James?!!

Yeah, yeah...

A Leicester v Wasps Final for the Heineken, I should think...

But you must be more worried about the old Pests being in the Premiership play offs.

The Tigers are a leaner meaner side this year, god help any little pests that get in the way!
Posted on: 03 April 2007 by JamieWednesday
Wasps will be fine if we just play second halves only. And at home.
Posted on: 09 April 2007 by JamieWednesday
Never thought I'd be singing the praises of an Irishman but...Reddan's been quite useful recently!
Posted on: 09 April 2007 by Chillkram
Yep. Last minute try and we're now 2 points off the play-off positions.

Back in the play off places again and now looking for Tigers to do us a turn against Bristol on April 24th. Then it's off to Welford Rd for plenty of this:

ABSOLUTELY ... (Tigers don't smile smilie)
