The weather has gone mad in SYDNEY

Posted by: DAVOhorn on 03 October 2007

DEar All,

So here we are the 3rd of Oct 2007 and all hell has broken loose in Sydney today.

Major road closures to the North no trans running to the North. Nobody going home this evening.

The reason??????

It is 36c today with strong winds and the Bush fires have started with a vengence. It is the hottest 3rd oct ever recorded in Sydney.

It will take some poor souls several hours to get home tonight. People have been told that if they have not started the journey home North to forget it and stay the night in Sydney.

I am in Gordon on the North Shore and all afternoon have been hearing Fire Engine sirens as many appliances from all over Sydney head North of Hornsby to the bush fires. The smoke is so thick that this is impeding firefighters. Aircraft are also being used.

What will happen when Summer gets here??????

Good thing Govt had the Gonads to no remove water restrictions as we will need the water for fire fighting.

yep it has been a very hot sunny day with strong hot winds blowing all day. Has not cooled off yet and it is 18.20 hours.

PHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my sister is visiting me from Sydney and she was distinctly not impressed by the past few days of CONSTANT drizzle and dark grey sky here.

Cool change just lobbed at 10.15 pm, a bit early in the year for this sort of stuff, more forecast for the weekend too. Send over some freezing drizzle Doc.

Gets the cart tracking nicely though!
