The strangest CD I've encountered

Posted by: ErikL on 16 January 2004

Today for the first time I played a CD I've owned for a while. The playing side of the disc is black(!) and when I play the disc the transport of my player makes lots of whirly, spinning noises. It could be me, but the CD also seems thicker than my others.

Has anyone else ever experienced such a thing?

I stopped after track 1, fearing damage to my CD player.

(the CD is DM & Jemini "Ghetto Pop Life")

Stop trying to play this disk in your CD player, it is a 7" single! WinkWink

No, it's a $15 combo coaster/frisbee. Mad

Can you put it in a PC or Mac and see what it comes up with?

I've got a spindle of CDRs that are like that. No problems whatsoever.

Playsation 1 CDs are black as well, IIRC.
