UnitiServe (Who has pre-ordered?)
Posted by: Develyn on 13 July 2010
I've been told my UnitiServe should arrive within 10 days.
Who else has pre-ordered? Have you received any time frame for arrival?

I have agreement with my (Awesome) dealer. If I'm not satisfied can return for full refund.

10 days is pretty close to end of month. Exact date is not 100%.

I was just going say the same..... I am guessing any decent dealer would take it back (after a reasonable amount of time) if it did not satisfy completely.
We have "buyer's remorse" laws in many situation here in the US. Not sure if it can apply to hifi or not, but most good businesses offer returns (maybe with a "restocking fee") unless EXPLICITLY stated CLEARLY in the bill of sale.

I have just ordered one together with the nDac to replace my HDX, the local dealer said Unitiserve will arrive HKG in early Aug.
Just wonder which version (SSD and HDD) you guys will pick, to be honest ITB storage should be more than enough for me, the reason to choose SSD may only be the sonical advantage I guess but how big the difference would that be?
I still haven't make up my mind yet!

I went with the SSD version as this will allow me to try Pure Vinyl and store both recorded hi-def vinyl and cd rips in a NAS. The NAS also has the added capability to be set up in Raid 1 mode, which should provide some protection in case of a crashed hard disk.

What is a unitiserve ssd or HD worth in the UK?
Posted on: 20 July 2010 by pcstockton
the same as it is everywhere else.

Thanks. That's helpful.
How much is the retail price in the UK? If anyone knows I would appreciate an answer.
Thanks

Jay,
you might get a faster response from your dealer.

10 days is up and no UnitiServe. I'm hoping to get word very soon.
Anyone in the USA get one yet?

Not received here yet, not sent from here yet–who told you ten days (certainly not the distributor)?

My dealer. It's no big deal. I think everyone is anxious to see and use the Serve's and Qute's. Appears Naim is doing some good things to create demand and excitement.

Or someone might just confirm as £2000 for the HD version and £2250 for the SSD version, (give or take a few pennies / pounds).
See that took all of 30 seconds
Cheers Allen - much appreciated.

Confirmed UnitiServe enroute from UK to USA.

The end of the month came and went with no sign of it.
I really struggle to see how they can run a business when they don't know what will happen in two weeks time.

Just to confirm demonstrators are arriving at dealers. Ours arrived last Friday - last shipping day of the month!

I noticed the reference manuals are available for download in German and Italian.

Munch, no!
I'm not around this week, but Tony has emailed me to say it is sounding excellent; I'll have a chance to road test it on Saturday. Will report on my findings. Looking forward to hearing it through a known good system.

Just spoken with my local friendly dealer and due to Naim deciding to go off for a 'summer holiday' they are now not expecting delivery until the end of August!

Just pick up mine today and having a direct comparison with these 2 setups while typing:
1. HDX+XPS2
2. UnitiServe(HDD)+nDac+XPS2
Both UnitiServe and nDac are just out of box.

After 2 hours of listening, I have no regret at all to pack up my HDX and look for buyers.
Yes, operationally it's more convenient but after you heard their difference, you'll know which to pick!
Also I thought UnitiServe can only act as ripper and cannot playback CD directly. I am wrong, it does exactly the same as HDX.
