Red Ken loses his Mayoral Car And chauffeur
Posted by: DAVOhorn on 03 May 2008
What an interesting outcome.
Good Old Boris is the New Mayor.
Red Ken i dont have a car or driving licence but have a chauffeur and Mayoral Limousine.(very socialist) has been DESELECTED.
How will Boris change things in London?
The world is swinging back to the RIGHT yeeehaa, except here in Australia where our new PM is a clone of your Toni Blair.
Another mega wealthy Socialist. Who speaks in tongues, well at least not English as i understand it.
regards david

It is hard to feel sorry for deselected Champagne Socialists. George

I certainly wouldn't regard Ken Livingston as a "Champagne Socialist" George.
So Boris the buffoon is in! Good old Etonian lad will have the welfare of ordinary Londoners uppermost in his concerns no doubt.
The Tories certainly ran a good, slick campaign. Let's just see if they can deliver the goods they've promised. If I was in their shoes I'd be somewhat nervous about the possible future electoral success of the Conservative party being judged by how Boris performs, as undoubtedly it will.

Ken may have had his day, but it's hard to feel enthusiastic about Boris as Mayor. That said, I thought his victory speech was good, and not at all buffoonish.

I suspect that Boris isn't quite the buffon that he would have people believe.

Let's hope so - it's inconceivable that someone who appears such a bumbling idiot could reach such an office. Isn't it?...

Why do I have this recurring nightmare that within 6 months we'll be locked in a Tube strike and getting to work will be even more hell than usual...

Can't stop grinning!

Who would have thought 12 months ago that London would have a Conservative Mayor, let alone Boris. I might actually want to live there now, especially as Aberdeen Council and the Scottish Parliament are in the hands of the Scottish Nose Pickers!
Was in St. Andrews for the Conservative Future Scotland AGM when the results were announced, I don't think I've seen Tories that happy since Thatcher was in number 10!

Am I the only one thinking of a certain Mr Bush?

Though the likely cause will be Complexity Brown having stolen their Pension/10p Tax rate/etc.

There's always song for every occasion
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

It's an old saying that
'every village has one'
... It appears that Londoners have just elected theirs.
