What's your favourite drink at the pub?

Any Newcastle Brown Ale fans here?

Nice beer, but I would prefer a nice cask conditioned ale such as Skinners cornish real ale. What you cant beat is the predictability of a good tase everytime with a Newcastle brown from the bottle.

I got a flight to Belfast late Friday afternoon and was in the pub drinking Guiness by 8.30pm. Started off in the Parador on Ormeau Road and worked our way to Robinsons, where it seems the whole of Belfast eventually end up. It was a good weekend, and the Guiness was wonderful.

No. Cork & Bantry, but not Dublin

Generally, lager in the summer - May thru September (Becks, Kronenbourg 1664, San Miguel, Stella - NOT Grolsh, Fosters, Calsburg, Carling), then local ale for the winter months. Wherever it is, I'll drink the local stuff, but I particularly like Shepard Neame, Harveys, Wadworth 6X and Abbott.

Looking forward to it October - courtesy of Clubcard points (the trip to Dublin, not the Guiness!)
Originally we were hoping to go to Cork, for the 'Rory Gallagher' trail, but with the only week we can go being also the International Jazz Fest, hotel beds at an absolute premium and the Clubcards points won't stretch that far (a real shame since the excellent 'Sinnerboy' are playing Cork on Thurs 26th Oct).
But we're looking forward to Dublin greatly.

I like Brown ale too. But begrudge paying the price of a pint for a bottle.

If there's no real ale or it tastes bad then it's Guinness or a premium lager such as Beck's, San Miguel, Kronenbourg or Grolsch (what's wrong with Grolsch , Rasher? It is brewed to reinheitsgebot standard even if brewed under licence at Burton on Trent by those lovely people who brew Carling, of which one used to post on this forum) but never Stella.

I know Stella has the most chemicals in it, followed by Kronenburg 1664 & Grolsh, but it's Grolsh that gives me a headache.

Alcohol aside, is Guinness actually good for you?
